LIHU`E, KAUAI (Ben Caxton) — High Surf Advisories have been posted today along the east coast of Kaua`i from Princeville to Po`ipu. Forecasters say beachgoers should expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous in the advisory area. High-pressure north and northwest of the state is producing the moderate trade winds that are whipping up the ocean on the north and east parts of the island chain. High clouds will spread over the islands from the west tonight and Wednesday, becoming rather thick Wednesday night and Thursday. Rainfall chances will increase area wide Thursday night and Friday as a potent disturbance aloft passes overhead.
