LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — The Kaua`i Police Activities League received a check for $22,000 in late September from the Honolulu Professionals Foundation. Kaua`i Police Chief Todd Raybuck said the funds will help provide positive opportunities and role models for youth by engaging them in activities outside of school. The $22,000 donation from HPF will go towards purchasing equipment for K-PAL’s various youth activities and will help to cover referee fees and registration waivers for participants in financial need. Every year, HPF hosts their “Party 4 A Purpose” event, where members statewide donate and raise funds for a selected non-profit organization. This year, HPF selected K-PAL and the Hawai`i Home Owners Association as equal benefactors. K-PAL is a non-profit organization coordinated by the Kaua`i Police Department, offering various islandwide programs to approximately 1,000 youth ages 5 to 18.
