Kalaheo Sunshine Market to Relocate During Construction

KALAHEO, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — The Sunshine Market normally held at the Kalaheo neighborhood center will be temporarily relocated to Kalawai Park in Kalaheo through the end of March, next year. Previously the Department of Parks and Recreation had announced that both the Kalaheo and Kapa`a neighborhood centers would be closed for construction. The Kalaheo neighborhood center is undergoing a partial conversion to a hurricane shelter and getting a gymnasium roof replacement. Meanwhile, the Kapa`a neighborhood center work includes the removal and replacement of floor tiles, general repairs, and painting of the facility. The cost for both projects totals $2.2 million.
