Wiki Permitting System for Beach Activities Shutting Down

HONOLULU, OAHU (Ben Caxton) — The Wiki Permits online system is the permitting service for authorized applicants to reserve and purchase permits for commercial activity like beach weddings on unencumbered State lands, specifically on state public beaches. Due to the COVID-19 government health emergency, staff from the DLNR Land Division who handle Wiki permitting will not be in operation and no new permit applications will be processed at this time. They are unable to respond to e-mail or phone inquiries. However, anyone with an existing Wiki Permit account, with a valid and current certificate of insurance, may continue to obtain permits online. Due to social distancing requirements, only 10 people are permitted for each permit. Keep in mind on Kaua`i that the Napali Coast State Wilderness Park, Polihale Beach, and the Waimea River Mouth near the Russian Fort are all closed by County order.
