LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — In observance of Prince Kuhio Day, County of Kaua`i offices will be closed on Thursday, March 26, along with all refuse transfer stations and the Puhi Metals Recycling Facility.In order to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the people of Kaua`i from the potential spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus the County also announced the other changes for cancelations for various County agencies, departments, and offices that can be found under http://www.kauai.gov/COVID-19. The HI-5 bottle redemption center operated by Reynolds Recycling in Lihu`e will be closed. The redemption centers operated by Kaua`i Community Recycling Services (KCRS) in Po`ipu and Kapa`a will be open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The schedule for residential refuse pick-up will remain unchanged. The Kekaha Landfill will also be open from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM for commercial businesses and the public. The Kaua‘i Bus will continue operating on a modified, weekend schedule on the holiday.
