Officials Expect Up to 70% Of Hawaii Hotels to Close

HONOLULU, OAHU (Ben Caxton) — Hawai`i tourism officials say they expect up to 70% of hotels on the island to be shutdown by the weekend due to the lack of tourist travel during the pandemic oubreak. Travel numbers are being further depressed by several Mayors, like Derek Kawakami telling visitirs to stay away, and Governor Ige’s order to quarantine every arriving visitor to the island for 14 days.
