Kaua`i Police Arrest Suspect for First-degree Burglary

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — Kaua`i police arrested on Monday 46-year-old Matthew Davidson, who has no permanent address, for burglary in the first degree. Kaua`i Marriott Resort security contacted Kaua`i Police Department (KPD) Dispatch around noon on March 28 to report a potential trespasser on a property at Kalapakī Circle in Līhu`e. According to a preliminary report, the suspect had already fled the scene before police arrived. Upon entering what was supposed to be an unoccupied residence at the time, police found the home in disarray, appearing to have been lived in for a number of days by the suspect. Besides trespassing on private property, Davidson also allegedly stole numerous items from the home. Davidson is currently being held in cellblock and is awaiting arraignment. He is charged with committing a class C felony and additional charges may be forthcoming.
