Kollar Wants Injunction to Shut Down Drug Den

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — There’s another drug den operating on Kaua`i, says Prosecuting Attorney Justin Kollar, and he wants it shut down. Kollar yesterday announced he has filed a civil nuisance abatement action to do just that. The complaint alleges that the house at 3767 Waha Road in Kalaheo has a history of being associated with drug-dealing type activities and constitutes a nuisance. He’s requesting the court intervene and prohibit the persons causing the nuisance from entering into the premises. The house is occupied the court documents say by Rose Dahle, Darrick Banasihan, Robyn Dahle, and others. The action, brought by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Drug Nuisance Abatement Unit, is the first of its type filed on Kaua’i. The special unit has successfully closed down and disrupted more than 20 drug houses on the island by working with landlords and mortgage companies. this is the first time litigation has been needed.
