Never-Ending Disaster Declaration Renewed for 13th Time

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — The Island of Kaua`i is still reeling from the effects of north coast flooding that occurred now nearly two years ago apparently. Mayor Kawakami on Friday signed a thirteenth supplementary emergency proclamation “extending the emergency relief period for damages sustained during the April 2018 flood.” The county in a press release says the purpose of the emergency proclamation is to provide continued relief for disaster damages, losses, and suffering, and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Kaua`i residents and visitors.
