Oahu Hiker Seriously Injured in Fall

HONOLULU, OAHU (Ben Caxton) — A hiker was seriously injured on Oahu Thursday. The 30-year-old man fell while exploring the popular Koko Crater Trail around 2:20 PM. He was treated by paramedics at the site and then transferred to a local hospital. Authorities did not say how the man fell but local newspapers report that the trail is in poor condition in many places, built from old decaying railroad ties, and serves a large number of visitors every day.
