On Kaua`i, It’s the Bus Stops That Keep You Moving

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — Usually buses move, and the bus stops stay fixed in place. On Kaua`i, the bus stops continue to be on the move as well. Two more bus stops have been added to the “temporarily relocated” category this week. Last week the Rice Shopping Center bus stop was relocated to the corner of Rice and Kress streets through the end of the month due to sidewalk and street work associated with the Lihu`e Town Core project. That construction work will also cause the ‘Eiwa Street bus stop to briefly move to Hardy Street for one day, next Monday. Meanwhile, many the Kukui Grove Shopping Center bus stop fronting First Hawaiian Bank will temporarily relocate starting next Tuesday while the parking lot at the center is under reconstruction. The temporary bus stop will be fronting the old Sports Authority store. Relocation signs will be posted at the bus stop until the original site is available at the end of the month.
