LIHU`E KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — As the remains of once powerful Hurrican Barbara pass to the south of the Big Island today and tomorrow, advisories have been posted for all of the Hawai`ian Islands. Kaua`i is under a Gale warning, with High Surf Advisories also posted for the east coast from Princeville to Po`ipu. Waves here are expected to reach to between six and nine feet today. The Big Island is expected to bear the brunt of the poor weather with strong winds, high surf, and possible flooding. A flash flood watch is also in effect there. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Cosme continues to spin in the east Pacific. As of this morning, Cosme is 2530 miles East of Lihu`e, located at 19.8N and 120.1W.
