Sewer System Inspections Coming to Lihu`e

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — Officials are advising residents that the Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division’s contractor will be performing closed-circuit television inspections on the Lihu`e sewer collection system starting next Tuesday and continuing through the third week of March, weather permitting. The inspections consist of using a camera to see inside the sewer lines. Sewer manholes will be used to access the sewer line and deploy the camera. It is anticipated that the contractor will be at a manhole between one and four hours. The purpose of the inspections is to assess the condition of the sewer lines and manholes in the area. Traffic control, using flaggers, will be implemented in the work areas. Motorists should drive with caution, expect delays, and adjust their travel times as needed.
