Tip Leads Kpd to Arrest Drug Trafficking Suspect

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — A caller to police dispatch about a man with drugs in his car has led to the arrest of a suspect wanted for trafficking drugs from the mainland to the islands. Kaua`i Police arrested 44-year-old Kameron Lawhead last Thursday when a search of his vehicle discovered 14.4 grams of crystal meth. Lawhead has a 25-year criminal record of drug arrests, assaults, and weapons charges in both Hawai`i and on the mainland where he fled after being arrested in Kaua`i in 2018. In his latest arrest, Lawhead was charged with promoting a dangerous drug in the second degree and is being held on $500,000 bail.
