Tuesday Night Fire Damages Building in Lihu`e

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — A building fire in Lihu`e Tuesday night caused an estimated $75,000 in damages. Firefighters were called to the structure on Ho’olako Street around 10:30 PM where an outside storage was fully engulfed in flames. The blaze was brought under control and extinguished in about 15 minutes. KFD says prior to units arriving on scene, the homeowner had attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
