LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — The Kaua`i Police Activities League is now accepting registrations for its 2020 programs. Islandwide flag football will be offered for kids grades K-8 with practices starting in May. All games will be played at the stadium expansion field on Saturdays in June and July, with the exception of July 4. The boxing program is currently open for grades K-12. Practices are held from at 5:00 PM for elementary school kids, 6:00 PM for middle school ages, and 7:00 PM for high school kids on Mondays and Wednesdays at the K-PAL Youth Center at Kukui Grove Center. All Girls Boxing is held at 6:00 PM. Wrerstling programs are also available at Kapa`a and Waimea. The fee to register is $25 per program. Exceptions may be granted for those with meal eligibility from the state Department of Education. K-PAL is a non-profit organization coordinated by the Kaua’i Police Department, offering various islandwide programs to approximately 1,000 children ages 5 to 18. Its goal is to encourage good behavior, a healthy lifestyle, deter youth from illegal drugs and crime, and help them reach their full potential.
