Public Access to Drivers Licensing and Registration to Close

LIHU`E, KAUA`I (Ben Caxton) — Through April 3, and subject to extension as necessary, the County of Kaua`i has closed public access to the Motor Vehicle Registration Section and the Drivers Licensing Division. Expiration of Licenses is currently suspended and the County of Kauai will be offering extensions for residents with expiring credentials. Licenses and identification cards that expire in the months of March, April, May, and June are automatically covered by a 90-day extension. Licenses that expired prior to March are not eligible. The extension is effective immediately. Licenses will no longer be effective for driving after the 90 day extension period unless they are renewed. The extension includes all valid Kauai driver’s licenses, learner’s permits, and identity cards. For applicable licenses, late fees will not be assessed during this period. This does not apply to licenses that have already expired.
